Born in 1995 from the my lifelong love of the vintage 6-sided European coffin shape, "Mordaunte's Coffin Gems" started with just 3 colors and only gemstones were sold.
In 2005 "Mordaunte's Coffin Gems" graduated from precast settings to create custom settings for the stones. Additional colors, sizes, and designs were added. The moniker "The Gothic Tiffany's" was given to me by my loyal customers.
In 2014, the name "Mordaunte's Coffin Gems" was shortened and trademarked as Coffin Gems®. A social media/customer service rep, and a jewelry model joined me. A casting person and bench jeweler were employed.
In 2023, Coffin Gems® partnered with a full-service casting company that offers an array of metal choices on-demand, including Argentium® silver, 10k, 14k and 18k gold, Platinum, Palladium; they also have CAD designers on staff. I hired a 30-year bench jeweler and I took over all social media and customer service.
Coffin Gems® is a woman-owned business - proudly created and made entirely in the USA.
Coffin Gems® has participated in, and been invited to, some fabulous venues over the years. It's been an honor to meet and greet my customers, horror movie celebrities, people in the haunt industry, and to show my stones and designs in person, in events both great and small. In addition to vending, Coffin Gems® has been featured in some great magazines, radio and TV events. While this is definitely not an all-emcompassing list, these are some of the places I've been!
